Well, what can I say?! This year’s Dominion Camp Meeting was unlike any other for me. Forty-plus years ago, when we held our first events on our former campus, they were quite different!
Well … in just a few more days, Dominion Camp Meeting 35 will be here! It’s hard to believe that I have been to every single one of these indescribable events. The history is one of life’s greatest gifts to me, personally. But, it’s not just for me! What a time where you will find the atmosphere both electric and reverent and completely complete!
“Jireh, You are enough, always enough.” Hearing that song today, I began to think of what David said in Psalms 37:25, “I once was young and now am old, yet never have I seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”
In our own pain or sorrow, we reach out to expect the love and compassion of God, but I learned something this week. While He is there without a doubt, it is conditional to some degree. Don’t freak out and just read along and this will make sense! It’s simply another layer of growth on the cake that adds another layer of compassion. A good visual is a cake and the icing is love! (I do love icing but I don’t think it applies!)
* This came to me around 2 am draining water from a bathtub as I told the Lord My God how I needed the waters troubled for healing in a heart that was hurting and these words came from within. I wrote as quickly as this precious message came as though I was at Bethesda long ago. I knew that it was once a place, but it is now an expression of the character of our God ... He never leaves us comfortless.
